When it comes to parking on campus, there are several permit options to consider for each member of the university community. If you are new to the Columbus campus, the sheer variety of permits and the campus size can be a bit overwhelming when making the best decision for yourself. Below, we have broken down our annual permit offerings by customer profiles; please review the sections for more information.
If a yearly permit does not make sense for your schedule, hourly (through ParkMobile, parking meters or the Pay-and-Display machines), daily and monthly permits are available to anyone looking for a more flexible choice. We recommend creating and or logging into your parking account and utilizing the Permit Comparison Tool to review your permit options thoroughly. Please note that the university determines permit eligibility and shares that information with CampusParc.

Completed credit hours are a determining factor for permit eligibility. If you don't know how many credit hours you have completed, please access your advising report to confirm.
Rank 1 (0-29 completed credit hours) Rank 1 students living in a residence hall can only access permits that provide overnight parking. Rank 1 students who commute to campus are eligible for remote parking permits that provide access to lots that service CABS. Annual permit types are included below.
Rank 2 (30-59 completed credit hours) Rank 2 students living in university housing will have access only to permits that provide overnight parking. Rank 2 students who commute to campus are eligible for remote parking permits that provide access to lots that utilize CABS and additional garage permits. Annual permit types are included below.
Rank 3 (60+ completed credit hours) Rank 3+ students living in university housing can only access surface lot and garage permits that provide overnight parking. Rank 3+ students who commute to campus are eligible for Central Campus permits and permits that provide additional garage access. Permit types are included below.
Please note that First-Year Students, determined as those in high school the previous year, are not eligible to purchase a parking permit unless an approved exception is granted.
Students who may need a parking permit can request an exception by emailing Transportation and Traffic Management.
Graduate and Professional Students are broken up into two groups: paid appointment and non-paid appointment status. Graduate students with university-paid appointments can purchase B- or C-series permits. Graduate students with unpaid appointments may purchase a C-series permit. Please note that some students with a paid appointment may need to provide their appointment letter in order to set up their payroll deduction. For more information or questions, please contact CampusParc Customer Care.
Classified Civil Service Staff, typically hourly employees, are eligible for the B-permit series and the Buckeye Lot (CX) Permit. Many nurses and medical center employees fall into this category.
Administrative and professional employees and faculty, typically salaried positions, are eligible for the A- series permits and the Buckeye Lot (CX) Permit.
Below are the parking options available to medical center agency and contracted travel staff. Please note that the university assigns these designations, and CampusParc is unable to modify assigned categories and or parking permit options.
