Although the remnants of last week's winter weather may seem to be melting away with the sunshine we've been seeing the past few days, it continues to drop below freezing temperatures overnight. This means that whatever snow and ice may have melted into water throughout the day is refreezing throughout the night, creating even slicker conditions come morning.
