Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to CampusParc LP (“CampusParc,” “we,” or “us”). As such, we provide this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) to inform our parking system users ( “you”) about how we collect, use, maintain, disclose, and protect information CampusParc collects from you on the osu.campusparc.com website (the “Site”) and in connection with CampusParc’s parking administration services (the “Services”).

What We Mean by Personal Information

In the context of privacy and data security, “personal information,” commonly referred to as personally identifiable information or PII, is defined as information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify a specific individual. We strive to manage personal information in accordance with industry best practices and in a manner that enables us to better serve The Ohio State University community and other users of the campus parking system.

Personal Information We Collect

CampusParc does not collect PII except for business purposes. This information is used solely by CampusParc and other entities that are engaged in the operation of the university parking system. Information we collect is listed below.

Account and Contact Information – We collect information associated with account management, such as your name, mailing address, email address, vehicle license plate number, phone number; and information required to conduct online financial transactions, such as your name, billing address, and credit card number or other information. CampusParc collects this information from you in a variety of ways, including when you visit, register, or use the Site, when you make payments related to the Services, and when you use the Services.

Your Vehicle and Parking Usage Information - CampusParc collects information about your vehicle and your usage of CampusParc’s Services, including: your license plate number; images of your license plate and your vehicle; your vehicle make, model, and description; the location of parking facilities you use; and date/time information related to your use of the Services (“Usage Information”). CampusParc employs camera and license plate recognition systems at certain parking facilities and on mobile vehicle-mounted systems driven by trained personnel. This vehicle and Usage Information is obtained through such systems, or manually as provided by you or CampusParc.

Parking Enforcement Information - CampusParc also collects information, both automatically and manually, in connection with its parking enforcement Services, including: images of your license plate, your vehicle, and the immediate surroundings of your vehicle, and global positioning system coordinates and date/time information identifying where and when such images were collected (“Enforcement Information”).

Other Information - We automatically collect other information about you whenever you interact with our Site. This automatically collected information may include the browser name, the type of computer, the IP address, the domains from which you are referred to the Site, and technical information about your means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information. Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance your experiences. Your web browser places cookies on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes and to identify you should you visit the Site again. You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you reject cookies, you may still use the Site, but please note that some parts of the Site may be limited or not function properly.

How We Share Information

We do not sell any information you provide us. Further, we do not share your information with outside parties without your explicit permission, except as detailed below.

  • We share your information, including your PII, Usage Information, and Enforcement Information with third parties necessary for the provision of our Services. For example:
    • To payment processors for payments for services and citations;
    • To Internet hosting service providers to continually monitor and improve our online services and the operation of the Site.

All information we share with such third parties shall be for the limited purposes reasonably necessary for the provision of our Services and the operation of the Site.

How We Use Information

  • We use your information, including your license plate number and Usage Information:
    • To identify you and your vehicle when you use our Services;
    • To determine your parking facility access permissions.
  • We use your Enforcement Information:
    • To enforce rules and restrictions associated with the Services;
    • To issue citations, and to adjudicate and collect citations.
  • We use your information, including Usage Information;
    • To provide customer service and investigate and resolve your requests and complaints;
    • To inform on occupancy and use of parking facilities in order to help with planning and parking system improvement recommendations;
    • To understand how people use the Services and resources provided on our Site;
    • To evaluate the effectiveness of the Services, the Site, and our marketing and business efforts.
  • We use email addresses and other contact information:
    • To both answer and send business-related communications to you.

We may also disclose any collected information, including PII, Usage Information, and Enforcement Information, if: (1) the disclosure is necessary or useful to our provision of services; (2) we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, interests, or property; (3) we are acting in good faith to protect your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a government request; (4) we believe in good faith the disclosure is required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or similar legal or administrative process; and (5) a third party purchases or otherwise acquires us or the Site or the Services, in which case your information will likely be among the assets transferred.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and help ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures designed to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your PII, Usage Information, and Enforcement Information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we do not guarantee or warrant the security of your information, including your PII, Usage Information, and Enforcement Information.

Payment Information

Payments submitted through the Site are processed by a certified PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor that uses industry-leading encryption technology to safeguard payment transactions. Information is retained by the payment processor only as necessary for account reconciliation and to research disputed transactions. Credit card and checking account information submitted through our website is not stored within any CampusParc system. Accordingly, in no event shall CampusParc, its officers, directors, employees, agents, or its affiliates be liable to you for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, or consequential damages related in any way to payment processing or the collection or storage of payment information. You hereby expressly release and hold harmless CampusParc, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and its affiliates from any liability associated with such damages or losses.

How You Can Access, Correct, or Update Your Information

You may review and update the PII that you have provided us by contacting Customer Service, as described below. To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting your request to revise your information or providing you with personal information residing on your account.

License plate information may be updated by logging in to the online self-service portal and clicking on Link Vehicle(s) to Permit.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We have the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We encourage you to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. In the event we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify you of such changes either by contacting you directly or by placing a notice on the main page of the Site. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications. Your continued use of the Site and/or our Services following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Children’s Privacy

The Site is not designed to solicit or collect data from individuals under the age of 13. In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect or store any personal information, even in aggregate, about children under the age of 13. If we discover we have received any information from a child under the age of 13 in violation of this policy, we will delete that information within a reasonable time.
