Online Privacy Policy

Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to CampusParc. As such, we provide this policy to inform you about personal information collected on this website (, how it is used, how it is protected, and how you can correct the personal information you provide, if necessary.

In the context of privacy and data security, “personal information,” commonly referred to as personally identifiable information, or PII, is defined as information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify a specific individual. For example, PII includes such data as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, license plate information, and credit/debit card information.

We strive to manage personal information in accordance with industry best practices and in a manner that enables us to better serve The Ohio State University community and other users of the campus parking system.

The Information We Collect

CampusParc does not collect PII from individuals unless it is necessary for business purposes, and only then if it is provided by you voluntarily and knowingly. Two primary categories of PII are collected by CampusParc: information associated with account management, such as your shipping address, email address, and vehicle license plate number; and information required to conduct an online financial transaction, such as your name, billing address, and credit card number. This information is used solely by CampusParc and other entities that are engaged in the operation of the university parking system.

The Way We Use Information

We use the personal information you provide when setting up an account or conducting an online transaction only to the extent necessary to fulfill a request or otherwise facilitate the operation of the parking system. We do not sell the information you provide us. Further, we do not share the information you provide us with outside parties without your explicit permission except to the extent necessary to operate the parking system.

We use email addresses to both answer and send business-related email. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not sold to outside parties.

We use license plate information only for enforcement purposes. License plate recognition technology is used to confirm that the license plate is associated with a permit or other form of payment.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Customer-supplied PII is stored off site in secure servers managed by third-party business partners who have been certified compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

Payment Information

Payments submitted through our website are processed by a certified PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor that uses industry-leading encryption technology to safeguard payment transactions. Information is retained by the payment processor only as necessary for account reconciliation and to research disputed transactions. Credit card and checking account information submitted through our website is not stored within any CampusParc system.
