Purchase Permit


Employee permit eligibility is determined by the university and is based on employment classification.

Employees holding staff/classified civil service appointments, and graduate students holding a paid appointment, may purchase this permit.

If you are unsure of your eligibility, log in to your account via the “Login” link in the upper right corner of the website homepage, using your university name.# login, to view eligible permits. 


Parking permits may be purchased any time during the academic year. Permits are valid August 1 through July 31 of the following year, and permit costs are prorated on the first day of the month throughout the year.

This permit is eligible for payroll deduction. University employees who meet the monthly payroll deduction eligibility requirements, which are determined by the university, must agree to the Payroll Deduction Enrollment terms at checkout.

For faculty and staff electing payroll deduction, the first month’s payment is due at the time of purchase (unless the permit is ordered prior to August 1). Subsequent payments will be taken from the second paycheck of the month (for biweekly) or the monthly check the following month forward through July of that permit year.

Permits provide access to designated surface lot parking and may provide garage access depending on the type of permit purchased. However, permit holders parked in designated surface lot hourly parking spaces and at single-space meters are required to pay the hourly rate. 

Link Your Vehicle License Plate to Your Permit

Paid permit verification is accomplished solely through license plate recognition technology; as such, it is important that license plate information be kept current at all times.

Up to two vehicles may be linked to a permit, but only one vehicle at a time may be parked on campus without additional payment. Paid hourly parking or a valid visitor permit is required for an additional linked vehicle to be parked on campus simultaneously.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that correct license plate information is linked to their permit. Failure to do so may result in citations.

Event Parking

Customers who purchase an annual permit are provided an annual access keycard with a unique QR code, which facilitates garage access if included in the permit purchase. In addition to facilitating garage access, the keycard provides access to event parking facilities.

Presentation of an annual access keycard provides no-cost entry into surface lots being sold at an event rate, regardless of final destination. Additionally, customers whose permit normally provides access to the garage being sold at an event rate may use their annual access keycard to enter the garage at no cost. 

During campus-wide events (known as global events), such as football or select stadium concerts, an annual access keycard grants access to all public day-of-event facilities.

Annual permit holders unable to present an annual access keycard will be required to pay the nonrefundable event parking rate to enter the facility. Permit holders are encouraged to have their annual access keycard readily available year-round.

Extended Parking

Vehicles parked in one area for more than 72 consecutive hours without prior authorization will be cited as abandoned and relocated at the owner’s expense. Customers who would like to leave a car parked on campus for an extended period of time should contact the CampusParc Customer Care.

Visitor Garages

The 12th Avenue, North Cannon, and Ohio Union South garages are reserved for visitors 5 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays. Permit holders exiting garages after 8:00 a.m. weekdays are subject to additional fees.

SAFEAUTO and South Cannon garages are reserved for visitors at all times.

Garage Access Credential

Customers with permits that include garage access are provided an annual access keycard (annual permit holders) or garage access keycard (monthly permit holders). Garage gates are activated by scanning the QR code located on the back of the keycard at readers located at garage entrances and exits.

Keycards may be used to exit only if the last use was for entry, and vice versa. If a ticket is pulled to enter a garage, payment must be made at exit.
