As of July 1, Ohio law no longer requires display of a front license plate. As license plates serve as parking permits on Ohio State’s campus, and so we can ensure the parking you paid for is used only by other customers who have a valid permit or hourly parking, please park with your license plate visible from the drive lane beginning Aug. 1, 2020.
Vehicles with both front and rear license plates may continue to back in or pull through, except where otherwise posted as prohibited.
Parking with the license plate visible from the drive lane allows CampusParc to monitor the parking system using our current License Plate Recognition technology. During the months of August and September, courtesy warnings will be issued to all vehicles parked without a license plate facing the drive lane. Beginning Oct. 1, courtesy warnings will continue to be issued for first offenses, but second violations will result in a $15 citation and three or more offenses will be subject to a $25 citation.
