  • Select “Login” at the top right corner of the Web page.
  • Select “University Login” and enter your Name.# and password.  If you do not know your Name.# and password, you can contact the OCIO office at 8help@osu.edu.
  • Select “Permits” then “Get Permits.” (Note: If you would like to request an upgrade, downgrade, or limited garage permit, you will need to select the “Add/Edit Waitlist” option from the Parking Portal main page.)
  • Follow on-screen prompts to continue to the permit list.
  • Select the desired permit.  If electing to purchase via the Pre-Tax Payroll Deduction Program, you will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  • Scroll down, check the three boxes, and select “Next.”
  • Select up to two vehicles you want associated with your permit.  If your vehicle is not listed, select the “Add Vehicle” tab and enter your vehicle information.
  • Click “Next” after you have selected your vehicles.
  • Select the address you want your permit mailed to.  If you do not see your address listed, select “Add” and enter your address.
  • After you have selected the delivery option, select “Next.”
  • Select your payment method and select “Pay Now.”
  • The shopping cart page will display; select “Pay Now.”
  • You will be asked to confirm your order and then select “Checkout.”
  • You will be prompted to enter your credit card and billing information and then select “Submit.”  While your card is being processed, do not hit the back button.  It may take up to one minute to process your payment.
  • You will receive an email confirming your order.  If you do not receive an order confirmation, please contact our Customer Service Center at 614-688-0000.

Vehicles parked on The Ohio State University Columbus Campus must purchase an annual or temporary parking permit unless the vehicle is parked in a pay facility (i.e., garage or metered parking space). Ownership of a parking permit indicates that the required fees have been paid for use of the facilities.

A parking permit authorizes an individual to park on university property. It is the customer’s obligation to use the permit in accordance with the university's rules and regulations. Parking permits are not transferable to another individual.

In the event a hangtag or keycard is lost or stolen, the permit holder will be required to sign an affidavit stating the item is no longer in the permit holder’s possession. The permit holder will be required to provide a picture ID with signature to file an affidavit. In the absence of an affidavit, the registered permit holder will continue to be held liable for any citations accrued to the permit. The registered permit holder may be subject to prosecution if the affidavit or information supplied is falsified.

A replacement fee for a lost hangtag and/or keycard will be assessed.
A parking permit does not guarantee the holder a specific parking space. It provides the opportunity to park within an area designated for a specific permit type. Drivers are responsible for finding an authorized parking space. Lack of available space, inclement weather, or other conditions do not justify parking illegally.
The university is a 24/7 operation, and not every customer who purchases a permit parks on campus at the same time. As a result, there are always available parking spaces for the different permit options. Cutting off the sale of a parking permit to a customer who has a need for it becomes challenging to defend when there are empty spaces where the customer could park. 
  • Read all parking signs before you park.
  • Allow enough time to park and walk to your destination.
  • Remember the allotted amount of time when you are parked at a meter.
  • Consider parking away from Central Campus (i.e., on Remote West Campus) and riding CABS. It is often faster to park remotely and ride the bus than to find a closer parking space.
  • If you forget your garage access keycard, you may purchase a Visitor’s Permit or pay the garage fees.
  • Residence hall students are not permitted to park overnight (3:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m.) in a campus parking garage at any time unless they have the appropriate “CP” permit.
  • If your vehicle experiences mechanical difficulties and you are parked illegally, please contact CampusParc to report the incident. Parking light flashers and notes on the dashboard do not authorize illegal parking.
  • Special events and construction requirements may impact travel and parking on campus. Please check our website for updates.
  • Always refer to this website or contact CampusParc  for current, correct answers to your parking questions. Other sources may not have the current information.

The permit is not considered valid unless it is hanging from the inside rearview mirror, with the permit type and number clearly displayed.

Anytime you purchase a new vehicle, or change the license plates on the vehicle you drive to campus, you need to register that information to your parking permit. You can update your personal information online by clicking on “Login” in the upper right corner of the Web page  or by visiting, calling, or emailing our Customer Service Center. You will be asked to provide your name, OSU identification number, vehicle make, and license plate number. Note: Any citations obtained on a vehicle’s license plates, even if the vehicle has been sold with the plates attached, are the responsibility of the license plate registration holder, not the owner of the vehicle, unless proof can be obtained from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) of sale of the vehicle, stolen plates, or nonrenewal of the plates. Please note that once a vehicle is registered to you, it will always remain on your record. You are encouraged to contact us when a vehicle is sold or no longer used so we can note an association end date.
Refunds cannot be generated for parking permits until the associated hangtag and garage access keycard (if applicable) are returned to CampusParc. Customers who will be on leave from their job and/or studies must return their permit hangtag and garage access keycard (if applicable) to CampusParc to obtain a prorated refund. Customers who are eligible for a refund when they return their parking permit items will be sent a check within six to eight weeks. Customers may purchase a new permit at a prorated price upon return from leave. All refunds are prorated on the first of each month. Refunds for student, staff, and faculty permits are not available after June 30.
The parking system allows flexibility to move around campus, but this also means that at times you may not find parking in the exact location you prefer to park because the spaces for your permit designation are filled. There are consistently available surface parking spaces for any Central Campus permit (A, B, or C) during the weekday peak hours in the Riverbank lots off Olentangy River Road, at the Schottenstein Center, and in the remote parking lots.
There are many areas on campus where it might appear that a car would fit, when in fact it is not a legal parking place. We are required, for safety reasons, to maintain specific widths in drive aisles. Parking spaces are always designated with two painted lines on each side, or in gravel lots there are curb blocks creating the “edge” at the end of each row. If a car is parked in a space that has only one line or in an area marked with yellow hash marks or a large “X,” it is not a legal space, and a citation may be issued. Customers may need to change the type of permit they have at some time during the permit year. For example, students may accumulate enough credit hours to move from West Campus to Central Campus, or staff may change titles or relocate from Central Campus to West Campus. Permit types may be changed by returning the original permit’s hangtag and, if applicable, garage access keycard to our Customer Service Center and completing a new application. Proof of rank or appointment change is required. If the returned permit has a lesser value than the new permit, the difference must be paid. If the returned permit has a greater value than the new permit, a prorated refund will be issued.

To upgrade a permit purchased via payroll deduction, a one-month payment of the annual cost of the new permit type is due at the time of exchange. Your new rate of deduction will take effect in the next calendar month. If upgrading your permit type, you are encouraged to exchange your permit on or shortly after the first of the month to maximize your new permit type. The opposite is true for a downgrade. You will want to exchange the permit near the end of the month. As a reminder, all permit rates prorate the first of each month.

   

Permit-by-Plate FAQ

Customers who purchase a permit allowing garage access will still receive an access keycard to scan when entering and exiting garages. The keycard is the same size and thickness as your typical credit card. 

You can have up to two vehicles actively linked with your permit at one time. You can have more than two vehicles registered on your account, but only two can be linked with your permit. You can manage your vehicle information via our website at osu.campusparc.com. Simply click on “Login” in the top right corner of the Web page and select “University Login.” You will need to enter your OSU credentials (name.# and password) to access your account. After you have logged in, select “License Plates,” and you can add, edit, and remove vehicles from your account. To link a vehicle to your permit, click on “Link a Plate” on the Parking Portal Main page, and follow the on-screen instructions. (Please note: you cannot have more than one vehicle parked on campus at a time. Your permit allows for only one (1) vehicle at a time to be parked on campus.)  As a reminder, your permit may not be shared with any other individual to park on campus.

 

CampusParc has implemented new license-plate-recognition equipment that is mounted to our enforcement vehicles. As the vehicles drive through campus, a camera reads the license plate and verifies that the parked vehicle has a valid permit and is parked in the appropriate area based on permit type. 

A vehicle may be associated with only one permit at a time. Thus, only your vehicle should be associated with your permit, and only your spouse’s/partner’s vehicle should be associated with his or her permit. This will prevent you from receiving an erroneous ticket for having multiple vehicles parked on campus during the same time period. 

Yes. We will still issue a small hangtag that can be used for university-sponsored event parking. The new hangtag is smaller and will not obstruct the driver’s view while driving. When entering a parking lot for an athletic event, simply show the parking attendant your hangtag and you will be granted access to the parking lot. 

You can add the vehicle you will be using temporarily to your account via our website and remove it when you are done. If you have trouble adding the vehicle, simply send an email to osuinfo@campusparc.com with the vehicle make, model, and license plate number along with your OSU ID, and CampusParc can add it to your account for you. You can also call our Customer Service Help Desk at 614-688-0000.

CampusParc has upgraded all the Pay-and-Display machines to Pay-by-Plate. When you purchase time from the machine, you will need to enter your license plate number, and your vehicle will be registered in our system for the time purchased. Since verification of payment is done via license plate, it is imperative to enter your license plate information correctly. Please verify all information before finalizing your transaction. You will no longer need to display a receipt on your dash. The machines accept coin and credit/debit cards for payment.
